Felker Black Box Theatre

Where Creativity Takes Center Stage.

The Felker Black Box Theatre offers a blank canvas for artists, educators, organizations, and event planners. The Felker Black Box Theatre transforms to fit your vision. With flexible layouts, professional production capabilities, and room for up to 130 guests seated theatre-style, it's a space built for creativity, connection, and unforgettable experiences. Your vision. Your audience. Your stage.

Named for longtime UDAEF supporter & board member Carolyn Felker, this flexible space is designed to serve as a large classroom for dance and movement (complete with sprung dance floor), an ensemble rehearsal space, a meeting place for community organizations & businesses, a small event venue, and a small black box theatre (complete with sound & lighting).

With theatre-style seating, a mobile stage, and professional lighting and sound systems, our theatre setup accommodates a variety of performances. Alternatively, the black box space can also be set up with tables & chairs for a variety of meetings and other events.

In addition to hosting a variety of UDAEF events, such as After Hours Jazz (second Saturday of every month) and performances by partners such as ComedySportz Philly and Philly Sensory Theatre, this space is also available for local businesses and community organizations to rent for small events, meetings, presentations, workshops, and more!
